Football has undergone significant evolution since the 1990s, with one of the most notable changes being in team formations. The traditional 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 formations have been transformed as coaches and managers innovate with new strategies. Modern formations such as 4-3-2-1, 4-2-3-1, and 4-1-3-2 are just a few examples of how tactical approaches have advanced over the years.
The advent of specialized roles such as the Central Defensive Midfielder (CDM), Central Midfielder (CM), and Attacking Midfielder (AM) have further validated and supported the evolution of these formations.
Unfortunately, most of the present day Fantasy Football apps still adhere to traditional formations and do not incorporate modern tactics or specialized positions such as CDM, CM, or AM.
Often, fantasy points are primarily awarded for goals, leaving many other player contributions unrewarded. While it’s challenging to account for every aspect of a player’s performance, RFT has made a significant effort to recognize various positive actions beyond just scoring. Since football is ultimately a team game where every player contributes to the outcome, we strive to be as fair as possible by evaluating players on a broader range of criteria, not just goals scored or conceded.
We believe this approach will truly resonate with genuine football enthusiasts. By focusing on realism and practicality, we've aimed to make our Fantasy Football experience more reflective of the actual game, enhancing its appeal for true football fans.
